Part VIII: SAS-Air Canada Lounge LHR/Singapore Airlines Lounge LHR/Air Canada (LHR-YUL)
Part IX: Montreal Marriott Airport
Part X: Encore Wynn Las Vegas

After deplaning my Singapore Suites flight, it was a bit of shock coming back to reality.  I headed over to the Air Canada/SAS lounge to catch up on some e-mail and take a shower.  I planned to go into the city via the Heathrow Express, as I had a 6 hour layover.  That ended up not happening, in part due to bad weather, but mainly just because I'm lazy.

The AC/SAS lounge in London is very nice.  It's no Singapore Airlines Private Room, but it's a solid lounge.  It has two floors and a good food/drink selection.  At breakfast, they had meats, cheeses, oatmeal, croissants, etc.  During lunch, there was a nice salad bar, soup, potato chips, and brownies. It was a very, very crowded lounge though.

After a few hours in the lounge, I was sick of listening to the middle aged woman sitting next to me blabber on about Twilight, so I decided to check out the Singapore Airlines SliverKris lounge.  This lounge isn't all that nice looking, but it had the fastest WiFi I'd ever seen in an airport lounge.  They didn't really have much of a food selection in this lounge, but there were a lot of good drinks.  There was also a really friendly woman with a cockney accent working in the lounge who was quite fun to interact with.

After some quality lounge time, it was time to board my flight to Montreal.

Air Canada: LHR - YUL
AC 865
Duration: 7:20 hrs
Class: Economy

It definitely was not fun going from Singapore suites to Air Canada economy.  When I first boarded, I was quite disappointed.

Me: Where's my Dom Peringnon and slippers?
Air Canada Flight Attendant: We don't have that, but I can give you a warm diet coke and a pillow someone farted on.

Luckily, no one was sitting next to me on the flight. The jet lag was starting to catch up with me, but I wasn't able to sleep, especially because the AC IFE had every episode of House of Lies. It's a really funny show.

This ain't no Singapore suite

Landing in Montreal

Montreal

After landing, I was happy to get off the plane.  The customs agent did not understand why I was in Myanmar.  He wasn't buying that somebody would go to Myanmar for fun.  After a few minutes of explaining that I was not a terrorist, he let me go, and I headed over to the Marriott Montreal Airport.  It's a cool hotel because it's connected to the airport, so no shuttle or taxi or anything.
