DCA to CVG

A few weeks ago, I had an interview at a company in Cincinnati.  They flew me out for the day to meet with them.  Since it was a fairly last minute booking, the short round trip flight cost about $800.  Luckily, the company picked up the tab.  I had the option to stay for the night in a hotel, but unfortunately I had to be back at school the next morning for a midterm exam.

My Delta flight left around 11:30am, and the flight was nearly empty, which was really nice. The short hop over to Cincinnati took only an hour or so.  As we began our descent into CVG, I noticed a lot of smokestacks and smog.

After landing, I headed over to the company office where I had my interview.  The interview went well, and when it ended I headed straight back to the airport to catch my return flight.  It was an extremely short trip.  However, I did still have time to grab some Cincinnati chili and gawk at the airport Brooks Brothers.

I had about 4 hours to kill before my return flight back to DC.  The terminal was pretty much deserted, so I decided to find a quiet corner to sit and study for my test.  After I got my laptop out and got all settled in, some guy comes from out of nowhere and plops down right next to me.  The terminal is completely empty and there are about four million places to sit, but for some reason he decided he needed to sit right next to me.  I normally wouldn't mind, but he spent the next 2 hours on the phone talking about dragon killing strategies for his PS3 game.  One of my favorite lines from his conversation was "I always put my character in the leather jumpsuit, because that's the only way to see her cleavage."  After finally getting off the phone, he fell asleep and began snoring so loudly I could hardly hear myself think.  At that point, my laptop was charged enough and I moved to a different seating area.

On the flight back, I got the trifecta.
The Trifecta
Overall, it was probably the shortest trip I've ever taken.  Hopefully, I'll get to actually visit Cincinnati one day.
