Park Hyatt Washington

I was lucky to be able to stay at the Park Hyatt in Washington DC this past weekend.  I used to live about a block from this hotel, but never got a chance to stay here until now.

When I first arrived there were about 40 doormen standing near the door.  Maybe it wasn't 40, but there was definitely an excessive amount of doormen for one door.  I walked up to the check-in desk where a nice front desk person checked me in and explained the features of the hotel.  I had booked a Virtuoso rate meaning I  got free breakfast and a $75 food and beverage credit.  Also, I used a suite upgrade and was assigned a Park Executive Suite.

When I got to the room, I was very impressed.  It was a really big room, and the shower itself was practically a whole room.

Welcome amenity -- wine and fruit

Really cool fancy iPhone speaker

Huge shower

The service at the hotel was impeccable.  Every time we'd call, they would answer on the first ring and they were always extremely helpful.  For example, my friend forgot his toothbrush so he called the concierge and within minutes somebody was knocking on our door with a toothbrush and toothpaste.

For dinner, we ate at the Blue Duck Tavern, the Park Hyatt's restaurant.  It was really good. Here's the menu for those interested.

Bone marrow -- very salty and tasty

Duck breast

Apple pie and ice cream

After dinner marshmallow thing

We also ate breakfast there.

Overall, it was a short, but very good stay.  I want to stay here again.
